In Tunisia and precisely in Sidi Bouzid (the city that sparked the Arab Spring in 2011) Kawthar has been working as a nurse in a hospital’s ICU since 1992, where she spends almost half of her days taking care of people who are struggling critical illness or unstable conditions. This profession is exceptional as it requires both ethical commitment to help those lives at risk of death, along with strength and sensibility to be able to deal daily with people on the edge of life and death.
